Facebook has launched’ a video app ‘Lasso’, which allows users to short-format videos and share it with special effects and filters.
Facebook’s product manager Andy Huang said in a tweet, “Facebook’s new Short Form Video App Lasso is now available in the US.” Equipped with video editing tools, this app allows users to add text as well as music in their videos.
CNET said on Friday, quoting a Facebook spokesman, “Lasso is a new app for the entertainment video in the short-format. We are very excited about its prospect here and we will also take feedback from people and video makers.
Not for Indian Users !
All profiles and videos will be public on the app. Lasso was first launched for American users. Because the company’s goal is to compete with similar platforms like Snapchat and YouTube.
According to the report, about 69 % of American teens use snapchats, 72 % say that they use Instagram, while 85 % said that they spend their time in YouTube.
These new apps will be available on both lasso IOS and Android platforms. Users can log in with their Facebook or Instagram accounts and share videos from Lasso in their Facebook Stories.
At the moment, Facebook has not revealed any information about this app’s Global Launching.
